An over-the-counter medication for heartburn, Micastra was supported by a series of ads that featured actress Mara Shoemaker, and an evolving plotline across the series. Shoemaker became known as the Heartburn Girl, and appeared set for Hollywood stardom, until she gave it all up to marry a guy she met on the set of the ads and became a trad wife influencer online.

Micastra remains on sale, and continues to make a profit for its manufacturer, if not as large a one as it did when the Heartburn Girl was on tv.
