Mega Flex
An energy drink that enjoyed a brief vogue in Blüdhaven, especially amongst its police force, Mega Flex was created and manufactured in that city, and rushed to marker with the kind of attention to regulatory requirements one might expect in so famously corrupt a venue. The creator of Mega Flex, Takashi Masao, allowed it to be released even though he was aware of its negative side effects, convinced that he could manage to modify the formula to ameliorate them.
Mega Flex was intended to create fast onset temporary boosts in strength to a nigh-superhuman level, and it succeeded in that goal. Unfortunately, since it was based on anabolic steroids, its side effects included rapid mutation (chiefly added muscle mass), permanent kidney damage, increased aggression and debilitating muscle sprains. Thanks to the intervention of Nightwing, it is now off the market.
Origin: Nightwing: A Knight in Blüdhaven Compendium 3 from the Batman franchise by Devin Grayson and Rick Leonardi.
