Pop Pop

An otherwise bog-standard soda drink, Pop Pop is notable only for its gimmick: each can comes with digitally recorded songs ripped from the charts installed in it (usually five) which can be played until the battery runs down.

Pop Pop, which is described as having a “great fresh taste” and “full-flavor ingredients” in its ad copy, is suspiciously lacking in specifics as what that taste might actually be.

Origin: The Hypernaturals by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning.
